Pianist Noel Benkman has performed four concert tours of China. He is represented exclusively by Wu Promotions in Beijing. He has performed in Beijing's Forbidden City Concert Hall, Shanghai's Oriental Art Center, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Kunming, Qingdao, Tianjin, Taiyuan, Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Shenzhen, Wenzhou, Nanjing, Changsha, and Suzhou. He was awarded Honorary Visiting Professor of Music by Shanxi Art College in Taiyuan, China in 2006. 2006 China Concert Tour (map/itinerary and photos). He was first invited to China in 1996 as the "American Olympic Pianist" because he performed the Rhapsody in Blue with the New American Orchestra in the Opening Ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles at which time he also recorded the soundtrack for ABC television.
